Not so Ruby Beach

Olympic National Park is the ideal vacation spot because it offers forests and greenery, AND it has beautiful beaches. Ruby Beach is different from your basic beach because of its dark grey sand and the piles of driftwood lining its shore. While I was there, I was unsure why it was called Ruby Beach because the sand looked like any other dark sand I had seen. But after researching, I found out that this beach got its name from the ruby-like stones found in the sand. The best time to go (I wish I knew this before going) to Ruby Beach is during sunset because as it lowers, the sun reflects off the ruby colored crystals and the sand turns into a rosy pink color. What a vision, huh?
